INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
GFNPSS Global Nursing Journal of India is an open access journal that publishes peer-reviewed,
scholarly articles on ethics and practices in Nursing education, nursing services, Nursing
research & administration and also in primary health care, impact and outcomes of nursing care
services and community health programs.
Criteria for Manuscript
The over-riding criteria for publication are originality, high scientific quality and interest to a
nursing & health care audience. Papers not sufficiently substantiated by experimental detail will
not be published. Any technical queries will be referred back to the author, although the Editors
reserve the right to make alterations in the text.
Submitted manuscripts must meet the following criteria:
 The material must be original
 The writing must be clear, concise and unambiguous
 The data are valid
 The discussions and conclusions drawn by the authors must be reasonable
and supportable
 The information must be relevant and interesting.
Manuscript Preparation
File preparation and types
Manuscripts are preferred in Microsoft Word format (.doc files). The following detailed
instructions are necessary to allow direct reproduction of the manuscript for rapid publishing.
Manuscript should be typewritten in Times Roman, 12 font size, double-spaced, title should be
in a font size 14, bold face capitals, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Tables and
figures should appear in appropriate place of the main text. References should be given in
Vancouver style.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for Journals
(Article title should not exceed 25 words)
Manuscripts should be compiled in the following order:
 Title page/Cover letter;
 Abstract;
 Main text; (Introduction, Material & Method, Result, Discussion, Conclusion)
 Acknowledgments;
 Declaration of interest statement;
 Appendices (as appropriate);
 References;
 Tables with captions (on separate pages);
 Figures; figure captions (as a list).
Cover Letter: All submissions should be accompanied by a 500 word or less cover letter briefly
stating the significance of the research, agreement of authors for publication, number of figures
and tables, supporting manuscripts and supplementary information.A title page should be
provided comprising the manuscript title plus the full names and affiliations of all authors
involved in the preparation of the manuscript. One author should be clearly designated as the
corresponding author and full contact information, including phone number or mobile number
and email address, provided for this person. Three to six key words that are not in the title should
also be included on the title page. The keywords will assist indexers in cross indexing your
article.

Abstract
Should start on a new page after the title page and should present the aim of the study, material
and methods, results and conclusions, not more than 300 words. All the three categories, Review
Articles, Research papers and Short Communications should have an Abstract.

Introduction:
Should start on a new page and should clearly indicate the aim of the study.
Materials and Methods
Should start as a continuation to introduction on the same page.All important materials used
along with their source shall be mentioned. The main methods used shall be briefly
described,with references. New methods or substantially modified methods may be described in
sufficient detail. The statistical method and the level of significance chosen shall be clearly
stated.

Results:
All results presented in tabular or graphical form shall be described in this section. All Tables
and figures must have a title and a legend to make them self-explanatory and they should be
given numbers. Each table or figure should be on main body of the text.

Discussion:
should contain a critical review of the results of the study with the support of relevant literature.
Unsupported hypothesis should be avoided.

Conclusions:
This must summarize the main paper. Ensure that extrapolations are reasonable and that
conclusions are justified by the data presented, and indicate if the study design can be
generalized to a broader study population.

Acknowledgements:
All acknowledgments should be typed in one paragraph directly preceding the reference section.

Tables/Figures:
Incorporate tables and/or figures with their legends into the main body of text.
Note: If an author fails to submit his/her work as per the above instructions, they are pleased to
maintain clear titles namely headings, subheading.

References
Only published or accepted manuscripts should be included in the reference list. Meetings
abstracts, conference talks, or papers that have been submitted but not yet accepted should not be
cited. All personal communications should be supported by a letter from the relevant authors.

Scient uses the numbered citation (citation-sequence) method. References are listed and
numbered in the order that they appear in the text. In the text, citations should be indicated by the

reference number in superscript. Multiple citations within a single set of superscript should be
separated by commas. Where there are three or more sequential citations, they should be given as
a range. Example: “… now enable biologists to simultaneously monitor the expression of
thousands of genes in a single experiment1,6-8,29.” Make sure the parts of the manuscript are in the
correct order for the relevant journal before ordering the citations. Figure captions and tables
should be at the end of the manuscript.
Authors are requested to provide at least one online link for each reference as following
(preferably PubMed).
Because all references will be linked electronically as much as possible to the papers they cite,
proper formatting of the references is crucial. Please use the following style for the reference list:

Proofs and Reprints
Electronic proofs will be sent as an e-mail attachment to the corresponding author as a PDF file.
Page proofs are considered to be the final version of the manuscript, no changes will be made in
the manuscript at the proof stage. Authors will have free electronic access to the full text
(HTML, PDF and XML) of the article. Authors can freely download the PDF file from which
they can print unlimited copies of their article

ETHICAL CONSIDERATION:

As per ethical consideration all the Authors involved in the research should seek approval
from the appropriate ethical committee. Researcher should get informed consent whenever
getting information in the submitted manuscript.

Role of Editors: The role of the editors is to evaluate the suitability of submitted
manuscripts for the journal, including:

a. The editor should check for quality of the manuscript during acceptance if it fulfills the
Aims and Scope of the GFNPSS Global Nursing journal of India.

b. The editor should check originality of the work.
c. The editors will not disclose information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other
than the corresponding author, reviewers or potential reviewers, or other members of the
editorial board.
d. Editors will evaluate the merit of manuscripts for intellectual content without any
discrimination.
Role of Reviewers:
a. Reviewers should assess relevant publications not cited in the manuscript and point out
any similarities with previously published works.
b. Process of peer review is essential to the journal in assisting in making editorial board
decisions.
c. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts with conflicts of interest, competitive,
financial, or collaborative.
d. Any manuscript found unqualified should be notified to the author immediately
reviewer find out unqualified to review immediately notify the author regarding this
matter.
e. Manuscripts received always treated as confidential documents and not shown or
discussed with other without authorization from the editors. Authors should expect to
receive reviewer reports in a prompt manner, normally within four weeks.
Role of Authors:
a. Authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may be construed
as influencing the data or interpretation.
b. All persons making significant contributions should be included as co-authors.
c. If an author discovers a significant error in the published work, the author is obligated to
inform the journal editor in order to correct the paper.
d. Authors of original research (Previously published or under consideration for publication
elsewhere not accepted) should be an accurate presentation of the work carried out, a
discussion of the significance of the work in context with previous works.
Role of the Publisher: If proven scientific misconduct, plagiarism, or false publication,
the publisher, in collaboration with the team editorial board, will take appropriate action to
clarify the situation, publish an omission (A mistake in a book or written documents).

Criteria for Reviewing: On the basis of following criteria:
01. Format of the Article: Any major divergence from the standard manuscript format
should be indicated. Please check in the given format as per GFNPSS GNJI Policy.
02. Avoid repetition: Repetition of past work should not be accepted. You can assess
conceptual advancement over previously published work.
03. Interpretation of Result: Should not include irrelevant and unachievable statement.
04. Statistical Presentation: Proper statistics should be applied over the data wherever found
necessary.
05. Plagiarism of Data: If data showing any type of suspicion, duplication and manipulation
of other research or paper immediately brought to the notice of the author(s).
06. Summary: Assess strength and weakness of the article considering potential importance
of the work in the context of present and future.
07. Conclusion: after evaluation or reviewing reviewer(s) can recommend necessary
corrections to accept the paper, if they are actually required. The paper may be rejected If
found unsuitable for publication.
PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

Journal frequency is thrice in a year (three times in a year – January to April, May to August and
September to December)
PUBLICATION YEAR: Journal started from August, 2018
PUBLICATION REGULARLY: This Journal is publishing regularly from August,
2018 and thrice in a year regularly.
